Academically speaking, Clark Kneuker graduated with honors from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  He earned his BA and completed two majors: psychology and English.  He also attended a rural college in Georgia, and received a business degree from a technical college in Delaware.

While serving in the U.S.A.F, Sgt. Kneuker served in Quang Tri, Vietnam; Nellis AFB, Nevada; and Torrejon AB in Madrid, Spain.  In Madrid, he met his beautiful wife, Marie, while she was studying abroad.  They have two children, Melli and Jim.  Both are very talented, Melli in theater, and Jim in music.

Aside from many journeys, careers, and varied educational experiences, it is a high school wrestling match that best sums up Kneuker’s life experience.  One week he failed to make the starting team.  To impress the coach, he volunteered to take on a strong-looking boy, twenty pounds heavier than him for an exhibition match.

The crowd became excited at the outset.  It was a battle of strength vs. quickness with many points and lead changes.  In the first period, the match was halted when Kneuker got a bloody nose.  The second period was equally rough for his opponent; the match stopped a second time to clean blood off the mat from his opponent’s bloody nose.  It turned out to be the most exciting match of the evening.  With approximately thirty seconds to go, Kneuker gained an advantage controlling his opponent in a near fall.  The remaining half-minute was loud and frantic as the crowd and teammates cheered for both wrestlers.  Kneuker knew he could not get a pin as it took all his strength to hold his opponent down.  The two combatants were nearly exhausted and locked up, with the crowd going wild through the final second.  Kneuker recalls that his muscle bound opponent simply needed the slightest surge to break his hold.  The match ended with Kneuker receiving points to a 10 to 8 victory.  Whether he won or lost, he had earned respect from his coach and teammates.  Winning did make it better.  He subsequently made the varsity, but this victory was most rewarding.

Taking on this project, “The Quadrants – Coming Full Circle,” has felt very much like that wrestling match.

During an attempt to write an English “panto” for his daughter in London, Kneuker stumbled upon the idea for “The Quadrants.”  It is the story of the famous Scottish minister, Robert E. Kirk (1692) losing his soul to fairies from a parallel world.  Coupled with the recent scientific discoveries of multiverses, Kneuker completes the tale of Minister Kirk and predicts the outcome.  Who ultimately wins this epic struggle for the human soul?  A saga of jealousy that began in the Garden of Eden can only end when one side (fair folk or human folk) wins the war.  Kneuker believes in putting his soul into everything he does.
